ISLE OF MAN ENERGY CONTINUES COMMUNITY SUPPORT WITH DONATION FOR AGE CONCERN
Isle of Man Energy has donated £5,000 to Age Concern Isle of Man, continuing its commitment to supporting local charities and backing the organisation’s work with people navigating the financial pressures of today’s cost-of-living climate.
The donation will support Age Concern Isle of Man’s ongoing work providing and confidential information, advice, support and activities for people aged 50 and over. Independent of government and funded through charitable donations, the organisation plays an important role in helping older people access practical guidance and local support services.
With many older people continuing to feel the impact of rising living costs, particularly those managing on fixed or limited incomes, the charity says demand for advice and support remains significant.
Maureen Cowbourne, Chief Executive of Age Concern Isle of Man, said: “We are extremely grateful to Isle of Man Energy for this donation. The cost of living remains a growing worry for many of the people we support. Many have planned carefully throughout their lives but are now facing challenges beyond their control.
“This funding will help us continue providing information, guidance and support so people can better understand their options and access the help available to them. We are delighted that Isle of Man Energy has chosen to support our work in this way.”
The donation forms part of Isle of Man Energy’s wider commitment to supporting organisations helping Island communities navigate financial pressures and follows the company’s recent £10,000 contribution to The Salvation Army Isle of Man’s Debt Advice Service.
Aidan Baglow, Managing Director, Isle of Man Energy, added: “Age Concern Isle of Man provides a valued and trusted service for older people across our community, and we have enormous respect for the work the charity does.
“Many of the people using these services have contributed greatly to Island life over many years and deserve access to clear information, support and reassurance when circumstances become difficult.
“We are pleased to support Age Concern’s work and hope this donation helps them continue reaching people who may need their services. As a local energy provider, we believe supporting our community extends beyond the services we provide and includes backing organisations making a real difference to people’s lives."
The donation continues Isle of Man Energy’s ongoing support of community organisations across the Island and reflects the company’s commitment to working alongside charities helping people through challenging circumstances.
Age Concern Isle of Man encourages anyone who may benefit from its services, or who knows someone needing support, to get in touch to find out more about the help available.
